Part of Jasper-Dubois Road closed Thursday

The Indiana Department of Transportation is announcing that it will be closing County Road 100 East (Jasper-Dubois Road) on the north side of State Road 164.  The closure is needed to allow crews to install a drainage structure under Jasper-Dubois Road at the intersection.   

INDOT forces will close the roadway at the intersection at approximately 7:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 26 and re-open to traffic by 5:00 p.m. that same day, weather permitting.  The work schedule is subject to change in the event of inclement weather.

The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) Vincennes District announces that $8.8 million in Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) funding will be distributed to six communities including several in Dubois and Pike Counties.

Projects receiving funding include the City of Petersburg’s truck route project, Tell City’s River Road project, Crawford County’s bridge over Norfolk Southern railroad, Pike County’s bridge over Patoka River, Dubois County’s Holland Road project and Daviess County’s Cannelburg Road Project, Phase 2.

Gohmann Asphalt and Construction of Clarksville, Indiana was the low bid for the $70.5 million contract to build the section of the new interstate from the Patoka River Bridges to State Road 61.  The 4400-foot twin bridge is one of the key parts of the first half of the construction project.

The Indiana Department of Transportation announces that State Road 61 (S.R. 61) will be closing near Winslow.

Railroad contractor crews will be closing S.R. 61 from the junction of State Road 56 (S.R. 56) to the junction of State Road 64 (S.R. 64).  Crews will be making repairs to the crossing 3.3 miles north of S.R. 64.

ISP Jasper District troopers to increase seat belt enforcement

Indiana State Police, Jasper District will be participating Indiana’s 2012 Click It or Ticket seat belt enforcement which will begin Friday, May 18.

This national mobilization will take place over the Memorial Day holiday period and is supported by thousands of law enforcement agencies and traffic safety advocates across the country.  In Indiana, more than 250 law enforcement agencies will conduct special patrol – day and night, to identify and ticket unrestrained motorists.  The effort will conclude on June 3.

Adopt a Highway looking for help

The Indiana Department of Transportation is seeking dedicated individuals or groups to join our Adopt-A-Highway program which helps significantly reduce the roadside trash problem throughout Indiana.

INDOT’s Adopt-A-Highway program coordinates with community and service groups that provide highway trash and litter pick-up in local areas. The program helps clean up our state roads and U.S. routes as well as improves the look of Indiana’s communities.

SR 57 traffic stoppages in Pike County Tuesday

The Indiana Department of Transportation announces that traffic on State Road 57 (S.R. 57) in Pike County will be stopped temporarily. 

On Tuesday, April 24, traffic will be stopped intermittently where Interstate 69 intersects S.R. 57, approximately 4.0 miles north of S.R. 64 in Oakland City.  It is anticipated 4 stoppages will take place, none lasting more than 15 minutes between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. local time. 

Stopping traffic is required to allow bridge beams to be delivered and set for the new bridge over S.R. 57.
