Bretzville Junction signal to begin flashing | Transportation
The new signal at the State Road 162 and State Road 64 junction will be activated this afternoon. INDOT tells us power company crews will be on site to switch the power on to the signal. The signal will flash red in all directions, indicating a four-way stop. This is the current pattern at the intersection.
On Tuesday, September 17, weather permitting, the pavement markings contractor will be onsite to place the final turn arrow markings and lane indicators. Once all markings are in place, the signal will begin full activation.
Lutgring Brothers, Inc. of Tell City was the low bidder on the $1 million contract which adds dedicated left turn lanes for north and south bound traffic on S.R. 162 and traffic signals for the intersection.
INDOT encourages motorists to slow down and pay special attention as motorists become familiar with the new traffic patterns at this location.
