ISTEP test results | Schools
Indiana Superintendent of Public Instruction Tony Bennett on Tuesday released the first set of statewide test scores.
The ISTEP tests measure Math, English, Science and Social Studies in grades 3 through 8. In the Greater Jasper School Corporation, Ireland Elementary has scored over 90 percent in all categories of English / Language Arts, Math, both ELA and Math, Science and Social Studies with a high score of 99 percent in Math.
In the Southeast Dubois School Corporation, Ferdinand Elementary has scored over 97 percent in all four categories with a 100 percent in Math.
In the Northeast Dubois School Corporation, Celestine Elementary has also scored over 90 percent in all four categories with a high score of 94 percent in Math.
Overall, the scores for Dubois County Schools are good and there is a lot to celebrate in terms of high scores.
However, the reports also shows some areas that need improvement – for example the lowest scores that can be found on the report includes Southridge Middle School Science at 60.3 percent; Social Studies for Jasper Tenth Street School with a 61.4 percent and, not far ahead is Dubois Middle School at 67.6 in Social Studies as well.
While the Southwest Dubois Schools scores were not as high as their counterparts, Huntingburg Elementary still produced solid results. The high score in Math was almost 95 %. High School level, end of course assessment results will not be released until later this year which will provide a better overall look at how each school system is doing as a whole.
