Jasper man hurt in ATV wreck | News
A Saturday night ATV accident in Martin County injured 53-year-old Nicholas Leidgen of Jasper.
DNR law enforcement officials say Leidgen was operating a 2012 Polaris ATV west bound on Rusk Road in southern Martin County, at approximately 9:00 p.m., when for unknown reasons the ATV left the roadway and overturned, throwing Leidgen from the machine.
Other members of Leidgen’s ATV party then transported him via a personal vehicle to State Road 56 to meet with a Dubois County EMS ambulance, and Dubois Fire Department First Responders.
Leidgen was then transported to Jasper Memorial Hospital for neck and back injuries. Later, he was transported to Evansville’s St Mary’s Medical Center for further treatment.
Alcohol is believed to be a contributing factor and alcohol related charges are pending.
The ATV was a total loss.
