Petersburg man hurt in accident near Ireland | News
A 57-year-old Petersburg man was flown to St. Mary’s Medical Center Monday after an accident on SR 56 west of Ireland.
Our media partner, WITZ Radio, reports it happened just before noon when Doug Craig’s 2005 Chevy pickup drifted across the eastbound lane, then off the road and into a ditch where it traveled about 300 feet and struck a large culvert.
Craig was cut from his truck by Ireland First Responders and suffered chest and head injuries. He was first taken to Memorial Hospital and then transferred via Lifeflight to St. Mary’s.
He was reported in serious condition Tuesday afternoon.
