School bus starts route before ice storm, worries parents | News
PIKE CO, IN (WFIE)- Friday morning's ice storm had parents in Pike County worried about their children who were in school buses.
Pike County School Superintendent, Suzanne Blake says the school system was not on any kind of delay this morning, since the ice storm did not start until nearly and hour after the buses had already begun their routes.
However, Blake says once the ice storm did hit, all the buses were held at the county's elementary schools until conditions improved.
Eventually, Blake says all the students were safely taken to their respective buildings. Blake also says some parents were upset that they couldn't effectively communicate with the corporation Friday morning.
She says that was due to the large call volume.
