Town of Ferdinand's new intern | News

Samuel Beckman, a senior at Forest Park Jr.-Sr. High School, was recently selected to become the Town of Ferdinand’s latest intern.  Over the course of his internship, he will work directly under the Town Manager, Marc Steczyk, until the end of May. 

Sam will provide assistance with the Ferdinand Folk Festival this year, website management and oversight during a planned redesign, and work on other various projects for the Town. 

Upon graduation, he plans to continue his education at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana, majoring in Management.  Sam is the son of Mark and Karen Beckman.

Throughout his schooling, Sam has been actively involved in the following clubs and extracurricular programs:

• Boys’ Varsity Track and Field
• Peers Educating Peers (PEP)
• Boys’ Varsity Tennis
• Youth Group
• Spirit Club
• Beta Club

The Town’s intern partnership with Forest Park began in the Spring of 2008 as a part of Ferdinand’s HomeTown Competitiveness initiative.
