Dubois County teen hurt when SUV hits house in dense fog | News

A 17-year-old Jasper girl was hurt Thursday morning when the SUV she was driving ran off the road and hit a house.
The Dubois County Sheriff's Office says the girl was traveling south about 60 miles per hour on CR 550 West near the intersection of State Road 56 a little after 8 a.m. There was dense fog at the time and the teen told deputies she didn't see a stop sign, ran off the road, into a yard and struck the side of the house.
The girl was taken to Memorial Hospital by EMS because of hip pain. She was ticketed for driving too fast to avoid a collision.
The home, owned by Norbert Dick, sustained about $25,000 damage.
The SUV sustained $5,000 damage.
