The Jasper Public Library will close for about a month beginning November 26.
The library will be getting new shelving and furniture and will also do some rearranging to make the most of their existing space.
Library Director Rita Douthitt says they hope the work inside the building will keep growing pains at bay until plans to build a new library can be put together.
The library will be closed from the 26th through Christmas Day.
Discussions on a long term solution are ongoing and according to WITZ Radio, could involve a possible purchase of the Jasper Country Club Golf Course property. City officials say the property could potentially be home to a new centralized campus that could contain a new library and/or Arts Center.
In the meantime, the library will use the Gutzweiler building, across Main Street as an overflow for the Jasper Library and will include offices and meeting spaces.
