Family left homeless after Dubois Co. fire | News
A family of three was left homeless Sunday night after a fire damaged a home they were renting east of Jasper.
Fire Chief Kenny Hochgesang told our media partner, WITZ Radio that the call came in just after 10 p.m. at 548 E. 190 North.
James and Rebecca Cannon and their child were all able to escape thanks to a smoke alarm but the home is considered a total loss. They had no renters insurance.
Four trucks and 32 firefighters from Jasper, a tanker, ten firefighters from Dubois and six from Celestine assisted.
Hochgesang says the fire was stubborn and crews were on scene for around four hours.
