Jasper teen airlifted after SUV flips | News
A 16-year-old driver and her passenger were hurt Wednesday when their SUV went off the road and flipped onto its top.
The Dubois County Sheriff’s Department says the teen told them she was west bound on SR 56 East northwest of Dubois when the 2008 Kia SUV began to shake violently.
The girl stated she applied the brakes, which caused the vehicle to go into a skid and off the north side of the roadway where it struck an embankment and came to rest on its top.
The girl and her passenger, Chandler A. Tinkle of Jasper were transported to Memorial Hospital. The 16-year-old girl was then airlifted to St. Mary’s in Evansville for further evaluation of possible internal injuries and a possible broken leg. Tinkle suffered head and neck pain.
The vehicle was a total loss.
