Birdseye woman hurt, trapped when car flips into creek | News
A 44-year-old Birdseye woman escaped serious injury Thursday afternoon when her car went off the road and overturned in a large creek north of Ferdinand.
The Dubois County Sheriff's Office says 44-year-old Jill Wright was northbound on Club Road when she entered a curve, lost control, overcorrected and struck a guardrail. The 2002 Chevrolet Monte Carlo then overturned, coming to rest on its top in the creek.
Deputies say Wright was trapped inside until first responders arrived. She was taken to Memorial Hospital in Jasper for an ankle injury.
The road was closed for about 45 minutes while the scene was cleared.
