Jasper Police alarmed at number of drivers who don't stop for school bus arm | News
Drivers aren’t paying attention to school bus stop arms before and after school and police in Jasper say it’s creating “a very dangerous situation” for school children.
Bus drivers are required to activate the stop arms when loading and unloading students while parked on the street in front of a school.
Drivers are reminded that Indiana state law requires all traffic to stop after a school bus arm is deployed.
Jasper Police will begin increasing patrols in school zones starting immediately to look for stop arm violations and other dangerous driving behavior.
