Trailer breaks free, drifts into path of oncoming semi | News
An Otwell man was cited for traffic violations after the trailer he was pulling came unhitched from his pickup truck and rolled into the path of an oncoming semi, causing it to crash.
The Dubois County Sheriff's Office says Alberto Barrios was west bound on SR 56 about 2:25 Thursday his trailer came loose. A semi driven by Thomas Linley of Brilliant, AL, then struck it, damaging the semi's steering. That caused Linley to go off the other side of the road and strike a large embankment.
Linley was taken to Memorial Hospital in Jasper for treatment.
Barrios was charged with not having his trailer registered and violation of safety chains.
