Dubois County heavy equipment purchases moving forward | News
Dubois County is in the market for some heavy equipment. County commissioners opened bids this week on a package of dump trucks, dump beds, salt spreaders and an excavator.
The county council approved the idea of replacing some aging equipment back in March and highway superintendent Steve Berg has the green light to spend up to $400,000.
Our media partner, WITZ Radio, reports that Berg was pleased with the bids, which came in under the $400,000.00 that was allocated from the council.
The low bid on the excavator was $159,680.00 from Erb Equipment in Evansville.
Berg told commissioners the entire group should come in a little under that $400,000 budget figure. The bids were taken under advisement while specifications are checked. Winning bidders will be announced at the next commissioners meeting on Monday, May 20.
