Unemployment in Pike County rose to 8.9% in June, pushing the county to 35th in the state among 92 counties for unemployment. The 8.9 mark was seven-tenths of a percent higher than it weas in May.
In Dubois County, unemployment rose from 5.7% to 6..2%. That rate is tied with Hamilton County for the fewest number of unemployed workers.
Overall, most southwest Indiana counties saw their jobless rate go up from the month before, however, Workforce Development was positive as a whole, especially in manufacturing.
