Reward in home vandalism case

A $500 reward has been offered for information  leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the damage to two spec houses in Jasper.

Jasper Police are looking for vandals who destroyed or damaged part of the inside of the two homes in the Whispering Pines and Cambridge Estates areas on the upper west side between September 7 and 8.

The Community Task Force Against Crime is offering the reward.

Jasper Police is asking that any one with information about the vandalism to call them at 482-2255 or the anonymous tip line at 481-COPS.

Vandals damage spec houses in Jasper

Jasper Police say they're looking for vandals who caused significant damage to two new homes between Friday night and Saturday morning.

Police say it happened in the Whispering Pines and Cambridge Estates on Jasper’s west side.

 Kerstiens Homes reported that spec homes on Kluemper Road and Ashwood Drive had damage done to the interior décor and walls.

Tuesday afternoon, September 4, at approximately 3:30 p.m., Indiana State Police and members of the Indiana Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force executed an arrest warrant for Alfred L. Braunecker, 59, of Winslow, for Failure to Register as a Sex Offender, a Class D Felony.

Three arrested for making meth

Three men have been arrested on meth making charges  after the Dubois County Sheriff’s Department conducted an investigation into purchases of pseudoephedrine. Evidence obtained by the Sheriff’s Department led to 48-year-old Michael S. Schepers.  Deputies, a Jasper Police detective and a K-9 unit along with the Indiana State Police went to Schepers’ residence Tuesday afternoon.

Before entering the residence officers detected a strong odor of ammonia at the front door. Once inside they found an active one-pot meth lab.

Police:  Jasper man arrested in Henderson driving stolen vehicle

A 20-year-old Jasper man is in the Henderson County Detention Center after being arrested behind the wheel of a stolen truck.

Henderson Police say Zachary Overmiller was stopped a little after 5 a.m. Tuesday on North Green Street.

In addition to charges of receiving stolen property, he's also been charged with DUI, no operator license, no insurance and resisting arrest.

Wednesday afternoon, July 18, at approximately 4:30 p.m., Indiana State Police and Indiana Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force executed an arrest warrant for Willie Montgomery, 24, of Evansville, for Failure to Register as a Sex Offender, a Class D Felony.

On July 6, ISP conducted sex offender compliance checks in Pike County.  While conducting these checks the investigators determined convicted sex offender Willie Montgomery, 24, recently from Petersburg, had moved to Evansville.

July 4 shenanigans land man in handcuffs

A Crawford County man who already had an active arrest warrant there was jailed Wednesday night in Dubois County after sheriff's deputies say he and another person were throwing fireworks at passing cars, one of which may have started a fire.

WITZ Radio reports that 21-year-old Edward Hutchins, and a passenger, Jeffrey Deich, were stopped by the Birdseye town marshall after motorists called 911 to report being the target of fireworks.
