Winslow man arrested for failure to register as a sex offender

Tuesday afternoon, September 4, at approximately 3:30 p.m., Indiana State Police and members of the Indiana Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force executed an arrest warrant for Alfred L. Braunecker, 59, of Winslow, for Failure to Register as a Sex Offender, a Class D Felony.

Last week, detectives from the Indiana State Police Cyber Crimes Section conducted compliance checks in Pike County.  During their investigation it was determined Braunecker, a convicted sex offender, had moved in early May to a different address in Winslow.  Braunecker failed to inform the Pike County Sheriff’s Department of his recent move to 404 North Walnut Street, Winslow.

Braunecker was arrested at his residence without incident and taken to the Pike County Jail where he is currently being held on bond.
