HTC is about recognizing thecommunity’s strengths and most importantly addressing the areas in need of improvement.

Donations will help with bridge beautification

Donations will help with bridge beautification

Patoka 2000, the beautification committee of the Jasper Chamber of Commerce is getting ready to place summer flowers in the planters along the Patoka River Bridge. The group works to maintain this area as an entryway into the City of Jasper.

The planters are spruced up with live flowers three times a year.  Donations are accepted and received and it is this money that helps maintain these planter urns on the Patoka River Bridge.

In order to defray the costs of this beautification, Patoka 2000 seeks donations from individuals or businesses throughout the community.  You may make a donation in any amount (payable to Patoka 2000) and specify that is in honor of someone, in memory of someone, or as a tribute to a cause.

One week left in Easter Seals car raffle

With exactly one week left until Easter Seals’ scheduled raffle* drawing, just over half of the original 3,000 tickets have been sold for the “Cool Car, Cold Cash” Contest.

As of Thursday, approximately 1,776 tickets have been purchased and 1,224 are still available. Last year, over 2,670 tickets were sold, and this year’s goal is to surpass that total before the drawing, which is scheduled for noon on March 1. The funds raised are extremely important to the mission of the Easter Seals Rehabilitation Center, because all ticket sales underwrite therapy sessions for local children and adults with disabilities.

“Cool Car, Cold Cash” offers the grand prize winner a new 2012 Dodge Challenger SXT (valued at $29,820) donated by Larry Bennett’s Audubon Chrysler Center. The contest will also award one second prize of $5,000 and one third prize of $1,000.

Tickets are $50 each OR 3 for $100. They are available until March 1 at noon at:
