Pennies help Shriners pay for new van | Community Spirit

The Hadi Shriners have received a big check thanks to the ‘Quest for a Million Pennies’ program.

WITZ / WQKZ Radio and German American made a presentation to the Shriners Tuesday in Jasper.

The 13th annual event raised $13,942.79.

The money will help purchase a van for the Hadi Shrine to use for the transportation of patients to and from the hospital that cannot afford it.

Local students were among those collecting pennies as part of their community outreach programs.  

The Quest for a Million Pennies now starts over to begin to build up the amount for another presentation next year.
